What we develop
Different assets. Shared purpose.
We develop and construct property that supports essential housing, care and community services. Each development is shaped by its intended use, operational requirements and long-term commercial viability.

Residential conversions
Storm’s experience includes the conversion and refurbishment of existing buildings into high-quality residential accommodation. These projects demonstrate our ability to work with complex buildings, respond to planning and heritage considerations, and deliver practical solutions within existing structures. See the conversions
How we design
Designed around the people who will use it.
Our developments are shaped by the needs of their intended residents and the organisations responsible for housing, care and support. We work with commissioners, housing providers and specialist operators to establish what each scheme has to do before it is designed.
Different services need different buildings. Three decisions that get made before anything is drawn, and the schemes where you can see them.

Single occupancy, where the service needs it
Five detached bungalows, each occupied by one person, for adults with learning disabilities and complex support needs. A shared house would have been cheaper and wrong.
St John’s Oak, Clacton-on-SeaDelivered

Domestic scale, on an ordinary street
Three bungalows on a cul-de-sac, with air source heat pumps. Supported housing works best when it looks like the houses either side of it.
Martello Gardens, Walton-on-the-NazeDelivered

Built for the service, not adapted to it
Twelve self-contained apartments with staff accommodation and communal space, designed with Leeds commissioners for people moving on from hospital.
Park Place, Seacroft, LeedsDelivered
Developer and principal contractor
Development expertise. Construction delivery.
Storm combines development judgement with construction delivery in the same company, so a decision made in design, planning or procurement is taken by the people who will have to build it. We manage delivery and coordinate the subcontractors who carry out the work, and where Storm is appointed principal contractor we carry those duties too.
